Caliber: 7,63 Mauser
Up for auction is a Mauser C96 Broomhandle chambered in 7.63 Mauser. This particular example is all numbers are matching, the action is nice and smooth, and the 5.5 inch barrel features sharp defined rifling. This pistol is in amazing shape for its age and has a lot of history on it. This particular pistol comes with an original (non serial number matching) holster / shoulder stock, punch rod, and leather holster for the wooden holster. The leather on the holster is marked with a 1916 manufacturers mark, but the really cool marking is the marking on the inside, showing that it was in use by the Reichsbahn in halle Germany in the 1930’s in the early days of the n@zi party. The Reichsbahn was the national railroad service for Germany at the time, indicating that this pistol was most likely on a train conductor's hip for a very long time before ending up in our hands today. The pistol is in excellent mechanical condition and even has strong reflective nitre bluing still left. A walking piece of history and an absolute must have for any fans of this iconic semi auto pistol. (NOTE: while the stock is an original stock from the period, it is not the original serial number matching stock that was made for this gun, therefore this pistol is subject to the regulations of the NFA if the stock is attached. Do not attach unless you file a form 1 and have it approved by the ATF.)
